I had been considering getting planters like this for my new deck, then saw these on sale. Great Price! But not that you will need to drill drain holes in the bottom and they are pretty light - since I put fake ferns in mine, I placed rocks in them to weigh them down a bit. But a 20+ mph wind still knocked one over!

Love these!

Great planters that are extremely lightweight, sleek, adding lots of curb appealing as well as for around the pool.  The planter portion only goes down about 1/2 way.  Under that is a well with a plug which can be filled with sand or water to weigh it down.  I love that feature because it helps keep them from tipping & can be emptied if you need to move.

Versatile & sleek planters

Fantastic.  Just what I wanted to spruce up my back yard.  Great size.

Classy touch to the yard.

I purchased this for my mother-in-law's plant (snake plant) and it looks amazing in it...but, I wasn't too happy when I found out that another store had it almost $15 cheaper.

Great looking planters.  The design is well thought out with a drainage system near the top therefore the soil doesn’t take up the entire area.  Great price. Sam’s marketing team did a great job of making sure the planters were available when they received a plethora of plant options.  So I grabbed the planter and spent some time trying them out with the actual planter.  Ended up purchasing two of these planters along with my favorite plants (while doing that you can google the plants to see if they’re good for your particular zone/area, pet/human toxicity etc). Definitely the best value for the most impact.  And the plants are still alive after a month so that’s something!

Best value - biggest impact for 🪴

Down sides: it is not sealed, so when you water your plants the water and dirt particles will end up inside the planter where you will not be able to get them out... high potential for rotting and nastiness. And the planter scratches fairly easy (it got scratched on the way home from the store... but I just turn the scratched side away. 

Things I like: love how it looks and love the size brings your plants up to an easier viewpoint! Looks classy without the pricetag. Also love that its super light and easy to move.

Decent planter

Planter looks nice and seems to work with self watering feature once I figured out how to do it. Gave 3 stars for lack of providing rope required for self-watering feature with the planter and lack of instructions on how to install rope for self-watering feature once purchased separately. I found limited instructions on Sam’s Club website for item when scrolling through images of item. Disappointed that planter has self-watering feature but the rope required didn’t come with item when purchased at Sam’s Club. Also there were no instructions on how to install rope once purchased separately. I figured a way on my own that seems to be working.

Herb garden planting

The planter itself is fine but I don’t understand how it is self watering. There are absolutely no instructions and does not include any accessories to make it work as self watering. The inside does not go to the bottom of the pot and it seems like there is a water reservoir at the bottom but no way for water to get to the plants. It also says to drill holes in the bottom if using outdoors 😵‍💫so how is it suppose to hold the water?? Very confused about its purpose.

Not functional as described

Sturdy planter, however it is not self watering without drilling holes  and purchasing string to run through it to make it self watering . Had to google to see how to make self watering

Not self watering as stated on tag

I purchased two of the MM Tall Square Planters for both sides of my entry door.  We absolutely loved them after we added potting soil and plants. The next day, we noticed that the soil was drying out and looked as if we never watered the plants.  They only get morning sun.  We've had the planters just a little over a month, and they are starting to warp. I assume this is from the water that is self-storing instead of self-watering.  I would not recommend these at all.
