I researched folding wagons for a few days, compared them all, and ended up buying the Mac Wagon from Sam’s Club.

It came down to the Mac Wagon and a couple more from other large retail stores. The Mac Wagon is about $5 more, but well worth it. I was able to go to a couple of local places to look at, touch, and measure their wagons…but our Sam’s Club didn’t have any Mac Wagons in stock. So, I had to rely on reviews of others, for the Mac Wagon features.

The Mac Wagon is the highest-rated folding wagon on all sites, has a 4.8 of 5 rating on Sam’s website, and a 4.7 of 5 on the largest on-line retailer’s site, with almost 6,000 reviews…that’s huge. The other wagons I considered both report 225 lb capacity, while the Mac Wagon reports a 150 lb capacity. And, the Mac Wagon is better-made, and much more-sturdy than the others, so I have to believe there is a discrepancy somewhere in weight reporting.

One of the comparable wagons is about 3” shorter than the Mac Wagon. Being 6’ 4”, the handle length was a big deal for me…the Mac Wagon has by-far the longest extended pull handle. I’m not sure exactly how long any of them are, as none report accurately, but I would say the Mac Wagon’s handle is a good 4”-5” longer than competitors handles. The Mac Wagon also has 9” rubber tires. While with the competitors, one wagon has 7” rubber tires, and the other wagon has 7” PVC tires. I definitely wanted rubber tires, for a smoother, quieter ride. The Mac Wagon has a steel frame that acts as a rail in the front and back…you can also lift the wagon, if need be, by the frame. The other wagons’ frames are nowhere near as sturdy. The Mac Wagon is also easier to fold and unfold than the other wagons. It also has the seat and all the padding built-in to the bed of the wagon. The other wagons have separate padded cardboard beds that you have to fold out and lay in the bed of the wagon after unfolding. One of the knocks on the Mac Wagon used to be that it wouldn’t stand up by itself. Well, they have changed that with the newer models, and some little extensions from the rear wheels unfold when you fold the wagon, allowing it to sit on the extensions and stand up by itself.

I was able to find a really good comparison video on the differences between the Mac Wagon and one top competitor. This comparison video sold me on the Mac Wagon. I’m glad I listened.

Best Folding Wagon I Could Find

My husband loves to fish and since he retired he is doing more and more. He carries half the house with him and he needs a cane to walk.
After watching him struggle with everything he feels he needs, I saw this wagon.
He has a full canopy topped folding chair, tackle box, cooler, lunch bucket, bait and of course a pole.
The color is very complimentary to his chair.
This wagon is so dang handy and folds so compact and fits in the trunk of the car. It holds all his stuff and the wheels are large enough to handle any terrain. His waters and cell phone and cigars fit perfectly in the tray and pockets.
We are very VERY happy with this purchase. Other people who see it ask about it and we absolutely advertise where we got it.

Great features and colors

Bought it as a birthday gift for someone who wanted one to make it easier to bring in groceries & etc. from car to inside their home. I had originally bought one for hauling items to sell at farmers markets. But saw that it worked great for hauling all my groceries from car to my kitchen in one trip.

Great gift

I am in love with this folding wagon. I use it for deliveries. It is lightweight so I can easily put it in and out of my car. It maneuvers easily. Quick and easy to set up and fold to original position. It holds alot and is super durable. I shopped around before buying this one. Some of my customers have commented on it and I told them run don't walk and get one right away.

I love my little wagon

I ordered this wagon to use when we took our 5 teenage grandchildren to a water amusement park. We loaded it down with beach towels, purses, wallets, and change of clothing. It has a convenient tray top that holds your drinks, etc. It pulls easily even loaded down, it was easy to set up and break down, it folds up to a manageable size that takes up very little room. It also comes with a canvas bag with handles that makes carry it easier. The handle could be a little longer for taller people like my 6’4 husband, but was manageable.

Great work wagon

I bought this for my young adult daughter who owns horses. It folds easily enough to fit in her car and i specifically appreciate the idea of the table and pocket areas incase its something my daughter would need being outdoors long periods of time. It appears to hold enough weight she needs to be able to carry her bail of hay or bags of feed for her big monster beast of a pet without the need to bother or depend on a man for that moment of need.

Cowgirls dream boy

This wagon is solid, with a couple of features I didn't initially realize. First, the material is pretty heavy, so I expect it to hold up well. The folding mechanism also seems like it will be durable. One feature I didn't expect is that when folded, there is a cover to help keep the wagon clean and prevent it from falling open (we'll see if it gets used or if it gets lost...). The cover has two straps that clip under the folded wagon to keep it in place. There is also a strap on the wagon itself that velcros together to keep the wagon folded if the cover is not used and to help with moving the folded wagon around. The 2nd feature is that when folded, there is a sort of kickstand that keeps the wagon from rolling away or tipping over. Very clever.

Overall, the wagon is reasonably lightweight, so loading into/out of the car should be easy. The wheels are solid plastic/rubber but are a little wobbly on hard pavement. Should be fine on grass.

I cross-shopped these on Amazon and other stores and the Sam's price was the best. The folding tray is a feature that many of these don't have, even those costing almost twice as much. Good job, Sam's.

Good wagon, great value.

I Purchased this wagon because I’m going to be moving to a three-story building where I will need to cart things back-and-forth from the car. And it folds up nice and small. I’ve tried it out already helping a friend moving to an Assisted Living place (packed it full of heavy items) and it works great, I just love it! Seems very sturdy and everyone else loved It too, thought it was really cool especially with the extended table flap drink holder!

Love this wagon!

Love the size and maneuverability but do not like the handle. It is hard to remove from the locked position and even harder to put it in the locked position. It is basically a push and pull system for locking the handle. Hope the handle holds up to the constant mega force that is required to put it in the locked position and then remove it from the locked position.

Wagon review

This Mac Sports Wagon is nice. This Wagon serves the purpose of moving a college student into their dorm. This holds a good amount of cases of water and gatorade. We filled this up and was able to reduce the number of trips.

I have one con on this Mac Sports Wagon. The front wheels are the maneuver wheels and they are not on the corners of the Wagon like the rear wheels are. Thus making it a little difficult to steer when you need the mobility in tight places. The wheels are positioned in the middle of the front side.

The telescopic handle has a lock for the handle once raised but it does not truly lock in place. The handle slides down fairly easy even in the locked position.

If you need a wagon to handle things around the house or move a college student, this will suffice. I give it 3 stars as it sufficiced for the job at hand. If I had seen the placement of the front wheels, I would not have purchased. If you do not mind the engineering booboo, it does work but when weight is in the wagon steering is more difficult.

Decent Wagon

Measurements are from upen table to back of wagon. Its not what it states its measured as. 32 to 35" in length, inside wagon depth is 10" and wagon is 17" wide. Handle connection to wagon is loose and shakes when handling. I do not recommend. Material is cheap
