Nice size fort allows several children to play at one time. Lookout spot has already proven to be a huge hit! Very sturdy construction. Picnic space is larger than pictures portray which is a big bonus! We have only had the swing set for a few weeks and the kids get on it everyday. We live in southeast Texas and high wind storms happen often. A huge storm blew through the weekend after we put it up and it held through 60 mile an hour winds without a problem. Take the time to sort all of the pieces in alphabetical and numerical order. That saved us a ton of time. We did not have to hunt for pieces. It took us 16 hrs with one drill. Would have gone so much faster with one more drill.

We absolutely LOVE the Skyfort and are so happy we spent the money on it. It took about 25-30 hours for my husband to assemble it. He did most of it alone, but I helped with about 4 hours of the work. It's definitely easier with two people once you're working higher up and would be much faster with two people all along.

The directions were very easy to follow. Lots of pictures. It definitely helps to sort ahead of time. We separated the wood by letter/number and also took about 3 hours to put screws, washers, etc. into ziploc bags based on what step they go with, and that really helped speed up the building process. Having two ladders and two drills was helpful (two drills so you can keep different bits in at the same time and not have to switch them out so often).

It's shipped in 4 VERY HEAVY, large boxes. When it was shipped to us, we were missing the slide. The shipping company was able to locate it and got it to us within 48 hours of the initial delivery. 

Our older kid just turned three years old and the other is 22 months, and they are in heaven with this playground in their backyard. The crows nest is a big hit! The only thing they can't do on their own is the monkey bars, but they like to try them with help. We are certain we will enjoy this purchase as a family for many years to come - great investment! It's also great because it's beautiful and adds to our landscape! Would recommend to anyone looking for a playset!

Beautiful Playground - the kids are in heaven!

We bought the SkyFort II about a month ago, and our kids absolutely love it, rain or shine my kids are on it! We loved a few different sets from this site but ultimately chose the sky fort II because of the features it had. Our kids ages are 9m, 2y, 6y, 9y and 11y and there is something for all of them with this model. Shipment was fast and delivered right in our driveway, it came in 4 separate boxes with all of the parts labeled and easy to find. Total installation was approximately 14 hours for my husband and I, simple and self explanatory; easy to read instructions. I would recommend this to anyone. My advice to those buying this set: keep everything from the numbered boxes together in piles as the instructions reference the boxes they come in.

Great addition to our yard!

My husband and I purchased this set for our two kids, ages almost 8 and 4, for Christmas. It was delivered the day after Christmas and took us about a week to build, but the kids were SOO happy with it - they would stay outside until after it was dark every day to play on it! The assembly is no joke; it took four adults the better part of five days to get it all together. But my husband and my dad (both engineers!) actually enjoyed figuring it all out and making it happen! It's definitely worth it to take all the parts & lumber out of the boxes and organize it a bit before you start building. That really does expedite each step because it's easier to collect your supplies. Overall, instructions are pretty clear - we only had a couple things we had to undo and correct - and the structure itself is both beautiful and fun. Our oldest (almost 8) can do everything on it with no problem and still has plenty of room to grow into it. Our 4 year old can't do the monkey bars yet, but LOVES the swings and being able to climb up to the fort multiple ways. They spend time on it every day and are enjoying having their friends over to play too :) 
For any adults wondering, this set is definitely a good size. My husband can do the monkey bars without his feet touching the ground and both he and I can stand up inside the main fort without hitting our heads! The smaller, shorter section is a little low for an adult, but both our kids have no problems.

Awesome play set!

All the parts were there, wood was pretty good, it would have made it easier to put together if you didn't have to go through all of the boxes to put one section together. Also, the wood pieces should have  been marked 'front' and 'back' , because it does make a difference. Building this does take some time and luckily we had helpers. We also created a huge sand pit under the entire structure for even more fun and to help with stability.The three grandsons.. ages 9, 7, and 4 all love it...and their cousins will too. It is beautiful!

Really nice!

I searched and searched and searched for the perfect play set for our 2-year-old daughters birthday.  I looked at a wide variety of brands, and styles.  After comparing the features of the Skyfort II to the features of various other brands at the same price level, it was clear this set gave us the biggest bang for our buck!

The set took about 26 hours of my time, and about 18 hours of my dad's.  We mostly worked on it after we both got home from work during the week.  We did spend about 8 hours on Sunday together working on it.

The set is solid, shipping is quick, and assembly is... well assembly is not as easy as opening a banana.  It takes time, it takes patience, and it takes a keen set of skills to ensure you have everything in its place.  Here are my tips:

1.) Open each box separately.  Inventory each piece as you take it out of the box against the packing list in each box.  Be advised that the packing list in the most updated piece of information, versus the online manual or manual that comes with it.

2.) LABEL EACH BOARD WITH MASKING TAPE AND WRITE THE LETTER/# ON THE MASKING TAPE!!  Yes, the wood is labeled.  Is it super tiny and sometimes difficult to read, yes!  By putting masking tape on the wood with larger letters/numbers, you will be able to see the boards easier when assembling.  Furthermore, I suggest taping together like boards, i.e. M25 may have two boards, so tape them together.  Put all the boards in alpha/numeric order.

3.) Go through the book, and group all the hardware (nuts, bolts, screws, lug screws, washers, "L" brackets, etc) together per each step.  I suggest either putting them in ziplock baggies, or Tupperware.  Just be sure to label each bag/container with what step is in that container.  I promise you, it will take you a long while to do the above step and this one, but can assure you that in the long run, you will save massive amounts of time and stress!

4.) PAY VERY VERY VERY VERY CLOSE ATTENTION TO WHICH WAY A BOARD IS TO BE LAID OUT!  There are a ton of pilot holes, and it is crucial to the structural integrity and ease of putting the set together.  I strongly encourage that you always look a step or two ahead to ensure you have put a board in the correct position.  Always assume that certain holes, go a certain way.

5.) Have at least two batteries if you are using a 12v cordless drill.  Having two drills can be beneficial as well.

6.) It seems weird building all the attachments at the start.  Trust me, it is so nice once you have the fort together to just be able to attach the slide, ladder, rock wall, etc.

7.) When using T-Nut "BG", always hand start the bolt into the T-Nut.  This will help in not having you push the T-Nut all the way through and ruin the T-Nut.  Just get the bold started into the T-Nut and then use your power drill, being sure to go slowly.

8.) We built the entire crow's nest, and then attached it.  Was it heavier to lift?  You bet, but a lot easier and safer than trying to attach pieces to the crows nest 9 foot off the ground!

9.) I leveled the ground that the fort was to be placed on, and put 7 19"x19" pavers perfectly level on the ground.  I had the pavers so it created a "U" with the open part facing the front.  The dimensions were 61" wide, by 81" deep.  It ensures you have a level surface to build the fort and be able to square everything off of your main fort.

10.) Speaking of squaring, SQUARE AND LEVEL EACH AND EVERY PIECE YOU ATTACH.  It is very frustrating if you just guess on some pieces, and then end up having to loosen them to square it up each time.

11.) Have some short 1x4 pieces handy.  Then read the manual and find out what gap distances you will need.  Create gap measure pieces out of a random 1x4, 2x4, etc.  It is much easier than trying to use a tape measure or something else.  The amounts are random (2 - 11/16" for example).

12.) When putting the screws into the slide all along the side, be sure to go exactly straight so you don't have a rogue screw go through the slide.

13.) I had my dad help me for about 80% of the project.  There were two nights he did not help.  While I assume one person could get the entire set done, it is SO MUCH EASIER when you have two people.

14.) Don't throw out the French and Spanish versions of the manuals.  You can use them to help you look a step or two ahead for pictures.

15.) Ignore that a PFH 2" screw is labeled as a "CK" for example.  Just worry about the style and sizes.  Don't waste your time labeling the hardware like you did the wood.  I seriously recommend doing each step into one bag, etc.

16.) Have fun putting it together.  It is a great time to bond with whomever you are building it with!  Once it is completed, you will love it, and your child(ren) will too!

I assembled the entire set alone so it can be done alone, however, i read someones preferred method was a 2 person organize and builder approach. I think that is the ideal assembly team.

Great quality of wood. A lot of pieces took a total of 15hrs, spread between three days. We added one or two pieces of wood for better structure and added a tube slide to the back entrance. Super cool and the kids love it! We have a 2 & 3 yr old and hopefully they will love it till they are 10.

I bought this about a month ago, and after about 20 hours of labor putting it together, my husband finished it and it is awesome. My children love it!! The only reason I wouldn't give it a 5 star rating is because it's definitely for the children, and I don't feel it is sturdy enough to support more than one adult. My 2 year old needs helping climbing it, and I would like to climb with him, but I do feel the ladder is not meant to hold my weight(170 lbs) also, 2 pieces that came in the boxes didn't fit, so we had to cut them down a bit with our table saw to fit properly. Overall though for the price and amount of accessories, it's really a great value!!

Great value

I wanted to love this product so much.  But I'm SO disappointed to report that after less than a month of use, the screws that hold the flooring are literally all breaking.  Just tonight I pulled out over ten screws that were popping up and could seriously injure a child.  Replacing the screws isn't even an option because they're literally broken with the tips remaining in the boards.  My husband did and amazing job building it over the course of a long weekend, he estimates 24 hours, alone!  It looks beautiful from a distance but it makes me sick to think 1.  The money we invested thinking this would be a long lasting swing set is blown and 2.  The hours he spent in it, what a waste.  I won't have him waste another minute trying to fix it.  There are boards that are already warping too-  on the top of the picnic table and on the top viewing deck.  Such a disappointing purchase.  We should have gone with the Gorilla Playset that we've had in the past and held up amazingly.
