Persimmons, 3 lbs.

Deliciously Sweet Persimmons

Persimmons are known for their high level of sweetness and distinct elongated dome shape. They boast a smooth, bright orange exterior and can be enjoyed either firm or soft, thanks to a carbon dioxide treatment that removes astringency. Whether you prefer to eat them with the peel on or off, persimmons with a uniform orange peel will provide the best taste. Lighter orange peels indicate less maturity.

Versatile Culinary Uses

Traditionally eaten in a soft jelly-like state, persimmons are full of delicious goodness. They make a great snack and can also be added to salads, sauces, yogurt, ice cream, cereals, granola, and baked goods. While they can be eaten while firm, the flavor becomes sweeter as the fruit softens and ripens. Persimmons can ripen at room temperature on your counter and will stay firm for 2–3 weeks.

How to Enjoy Persimmons

Persimmons are ripe when they are soft to the touch. They offer a unique fall flavor profile, with a sweet taste reminiscent of a pear with brown sugar and cinnamon. To enjoy as a snack, simply wash the exterior, slice in rings, discard the leafy top, and savor the remaining fruit slices.

Healthful and Nutritious

Persimmons are not only delicious but also healthful. They are fat-free, cholesterol-free, sodium-free, and a good source of fiber and vitamin C. Make sure to add this fall favorite to your shopping list. They are perfect for holiday entertaining.

Perfect for Holiday Entertaining

Persimmons are a great holiday treat and make a beautiful fruit spread when paired with meats, cheeses, crackers, jams, nuts, and other fresh fruits. Their vibrant color and sweet taste will surely add a festive touch to your holiday spread.

Value For Money

Growing up in the Deep South, I thought all persimmons were bitter, because that was what I had tried to eat. These persimmons are so juicy, sweet and delicious!! You can peel them if you want to, but the peel is eatable and good. The riper (softer) they are the juicier they are as well. I prefer mine to be a little firmer, but either way you will never miss a season again. They are scrumptious!

The Sweet and Delicious Persimmon

Very good taste I been looking for this fruit and was surprised when I saw them at Sam club I bought many cases, hope thy will keep bringing them

Love the fruit

I love fruit and I watch for these persimmons to come in season. I call them Apple Persimmons because they are ripe and delicious when they are still firm.

Delicious

Persimmons were packed very well and they were just barely ripe so they kept for a good amount of time

Ripe Persimmons

Delicious and very good quality. We ate them all in two days. Can't wait to buy more. Fresh and just ripe enough.

Persimmon s

Test so sweet and delicious, hope it stay firmer little longer, vert sweet when it gets soft but I prefer firmer persimmon

Persimmon

Eat it like an apple or wait for it to fully ripen and scoop the inside to eat it, and it will be sweeter.

Love it.

Fuyu Persimmons , pick date on box October 21 .

Arrived at Central Florida store on October 30th.

The Persimmons are very good and are of very good quality.

Fuyu crunchy and sweet.

The price is higher than last year .

Also not the same brand or distributor as last year .

The Persimmons are in a tray box , like the way the peaches come in .

The flavor is not as intense , however very pleasant and not overly sweet .

The Persimmons are also not deep orange color .

I also would guess as New batches arrive , the color will change

I would guess as New Batches arrive the flavor profile will also change .

Fuyu Persimmons

Disappointed. These were hard and not ripe. Have had them for almost two weeks on my counter. (Apparently they don't ripen after being picked from the tree?)

Save your money

1st box I hand selected was sweet and delicious. This 2nd box was part of a pick up order, hard with black spots. Will have to return them.
