I like the durability and still dislike the childproof containers. However, the kindest gentleman took time to show me an easier way to access the batteries without as much trouble. I’m 78 y/o and have tremors in my hands so the packages had been problematic. Many thanks!

First try on this brand

The batteries themselves are just fine, really good, actually.  I'm pleased and surprised to get so much time out of them.  They are in use for 16-18 hours a day and I usually get 6.5 to 8 days of battery life depending on how much Bluetooth streaming I do.  The problem is the packaging.  I'm told the new more secure packaging is related to recent legislation to prevent accidental ingestion by children.  I get that, but as often happens, the solution can be extreme and unnecessarily burdensome.  I'm late middle age and am able to cut through the plastic but "it ain't easy".  My wife who is 10 years younger just gave up without releasing a single battery when I asked her to give it a go. I just can't imagine how difficult it must be for an older person (14.5% of the US population over age 65 wearing hearing aids!) to get the batteries out of the silly package.  Come on regulators, there must be a better way!

The batteries are great but the packaging...OMG!

These batteries work great and the price is good. The packaging is horrible! You need scissors to cut open each individual battery. Who carries scissors at all times? Luckily I had an old package before they started the child proof packages and I open mine up at home and put them into old packages. I know it’s not only old people wearing hearing aids, but this packaging is awful for any age.

Great batteries, HORRIBLE PACKAGING!

The packaging is terrible, having to cut open to get the batteries out is absurd. The plastic also needs to recyclable. Much prefer packaging that rotates to an open slot.

Terrible packaging

This packaging is too difficult to open. I know it's supposed to be a means of child proofing, but the majority of users (the elderly) are not children, but they experience similar challenges that children experience such as exerting the amount of strength needed to open this packaging as well as hand coordination. I watched my elderly 88 year old parent struggling while opening her hearing aids so I took it from her to assist her and I struggled to open it as well. This packaging presents challenges for the people who need it most - the elderly.

Not Child Proofing, but Elderly Proofing Packaging

The new packaging is near IMPOSSIBLE to open!  It is awful.  It is so bad that we will not purchase this again unless the packaging changes again.  I am uncertain how this got past QA. Anyone with hand issues will not be able to get this product open.  I do not have issues, and I have trouble. Simply terrible.

The PACKAGING  is ABSOLUTELY AWFUL!!!!!!  extremely hard to cut through each card to get to the batteries.  AND. You have to CUT EACH one out. You can't just cut one and then turn the plastic to reveal the battery.  Who ever thought up this design was not thinking.   This actually hurt my thumb trying to cut through the card and plastic over and over.  It is infuriating.   I have low blood pressure,  i can only imagine the spike in blood pressure for those of you who have high blood pressure.  I will NOT purchase again and do not recommend. 

SAMS...SOMEONE FROM YOUR COMPANY NEEDS TO CHECK THESE OUT.

RETHINK THIS ONE!

This is the first time I’ve purchased this specific package of batteries and was surprised to find how difficult it is to open each battery compartment. You need good cutting tools to get it open. I always carry extra batteries when I go out and not sure how I am going to open it without also carrying some good cutters/scissors. I see that other reviewers have the same issue - please change the packaging Sam’s.

The batteries work fine - once you get them out of the tamper proof packaging.  The batteries are contained in a hard plastic shell that requires a lot of effort with scissors to open.  Do not recommend for anyone who has limited hand strength or dexterity.

Packaging is Horrible

I have been buying hearing aid batteries from Sam's since 2017. I have never had problem. Now they change the packaging to what looks like other brands. But you will need heavy duty scissors and quite a bit of muscle to get to the batteries. Then once I cut the round plastic, I'm using a zip lock bag to keep them together. Doesn't seem very safe or like much of a value.
