Purchased this due to the price being only $233. Everything went together smooth for me and the instructions were easy to understand, but have to pay close attention to which hardware item is to be used. The only issue I had was with the slot on pole concreted into ground not lining up properly with the driveway. I obviously didn't have it parallel, but I inserted a self tapping roofing screw and everything worked out good. Overall time spent was close to 4 hours.....2 hours for setting the pole in the ground and 2 hours to assemble with a helper and set on the pole.

I have had no problems with anything related to this system. I recommend this product highly and not very hard to assemble. It does take some time to accomplish the entire setup. I used 6.5 bags of 60lb concrete, a little easier to handle than the 80 lb.

Nice basketball system

During the cementing of the bottom pole we made some mistakes and compromised the integrity of the steel pole. I called Lifetime and explained what happened and requested a new bottom pole. They said they understood that stuff happens and sent me the replacement pole at no charge. The lady I spoke to was great to deal with and made it quick and easy. The basketball net is great and my kids over the moon. I would recommend to anyone they use Lifetime in a heartbeat.

Seems sturdy, have an high/middle/elementary baskeball loving boys on it everyday. The first package arived in terrible shape. The Fed-Ex driver was so honest to warn me of the same . It was sent back. When reported the walmart staff made arrangement for a new expedited delivery which arrived soon.
Packing instruction should be improved ie. main pole 1-2-3 should be labelled.One nut was missing, brought it from lowes. You will need 5.5 bags of 80 lb cement.
Holding good for the first week. Rust is the main concern from all the earlier review. Will keep posted on the same.

Seems sturdy, good value for money.

Overall, I was very pleased with this basketball sustem. I bought it for my son's eleventh birthday. I was worried after seeing some of the other reviews about setting it up and installing the in ground system. We bought the in ground sleeve (which I highly recommend) and used quick set cement (we had cement set for 24 hours before adding the final system to it). My husband did the in ground sleeve, cement, and was able to put everything together on his own within a few hours (with the exception of a trip to the hardware store to get the correct size bolt for one spot...the wrong size came with it). The only help he received from another person was actually lifting the final product onto the group sleeve pole, and it all went smoothly. We bought it three weeks ago and have been using it nonstop. It's also super easy to change the height...even my younger child can do it. Great value for a great system...very pleased!

Great basketball system for the price

I purchased this item because of the price and the reviews I read here. Based on what I read on the reviews found here, this product was exactly what I was expecting. I installed this system last weekend and our kids have been playing on it non-stop. It's not super-sturdy, but it is definitely sufficient for anyone looking to have a basketball hoop on their property at an affordable price. I followed the instructions to "T" with one exception: I dug a 12'' x 36" hole instead of the 18" x 24" hole stated in the instructions. I used a manual post hole digger for the hole; this took about 1.5 hours from the time I broke ground until the time I was ready to pour concrete. I installed this system using the 3.5" (diameter) x 18" in-ground sleeve others recommended here. I also used a 12" cardboard cylinder from the hardware store instead of using rebar during the install of the concrete. I used roughly 300 lbs. of concrete mix when I installed this basketball system. Concrete pouring lasted about 30-45 minutes from start to finish. Then, came the assembly of the pole/backboard while the concrete was setting. Assembly of the entire pole/backboard took about 3-4 hours. I thought the directions were very precise and fairly easy to follow; most of the diagrams are very detailed and this makes assembly much easier when sorting through all of the parts that come in the box. Some of the fittings are a little "snug", but nothing that a little tap from a hammer couldn't take care of. I had absolutely no issues with the hardware (nuts, bolts, etc.) that came with the kit. Others here have stated that they didn't receive all the parts or were provided wrong size bolts, etc. I didn't have any of these issues; I received all hardware required (even had 1 extra washer and self-tapping screw after completing assembly). I finished assembly of the pole/backboard and let the concrete cure for 2 days before I completed assembly. I would say I spent about 10 hours total with a little help from my 8-year old son (8 to 9 hours digging the hole, pouring the concrete, and assembling the rest of the pole/backboard and an additional hour doing the final install two days after the concrete cured). This basketball system works great for us; we have young kids and they really enjoy it. It was well worth the price and I would buy one again.

Great for the kids!

The box was severely damaged when we received it and we almost sent it back because we thought that parts could be missing or damaged, but we took a chance and it turned out to be okay. The instructions were a little confusing and before we were finished we were wishing that we had let someone from the store put it together. After a lot of time and frustration we finally got it done. It seems to be a very good product and hopefully it will stand the test of time and teenage boys !!!

Walmart did an excellent job on the shipping. THe backboard had very good instructions once you read over them several times. All the parts were herend it went together perfect. For the money it is pretty good. It shakes just a little when it with basketball. Worth the money

Shipping was great.

This basketball hoop does the trick for a nice price BUT beware... set up was a nightmare. My husband is extremely handy and this gave him so much trouble. The instructions sucked, he had to compromise many times. It took him a total of 4 hours to put this together.

Bought basketball hoop monthd ago and received wrong bolt. Called and reordered the part and it was never shipped. Called again a week later and there was some error to so it still didn't ship. Still here waiting for a bolt to complete set up 2 months later. Kids are frustrated and I wish I could return
