Leerdammer is the wholly Dutch (or should we say the hole-y Dutch?) natural, tasty cheese. Leerdammer Original Baby Swiss Style Cheese is made in a unique way which gives it its smooth, nutty, and creamy flavor. Ready-sliced, semi-hard Leerdammer sliced cheese is handy as well as tasty. We love it as a sandwich filling or as a quick snack straight from the fridge. Mmm! Leerdammer is real cheese, so it’s naturally high in calcium and protein…there’s 24 % of your daily calcium needs in each slice. Vegetarian cheese, lactose-free cheese and of course it’s additive free. In short, it means we want the best for our cows. There’s no such official term for ‘free-range cheese’ but for us, free-grazing means that cows get to enjoy the great outdoors and graze on Dutch pastures for a minimum of 6 hours, for 120 days a year, from the spring to autumn. In winter, and at some other times, a cosy shed or stable is more comfortable for them. *(&lt;0.01g/100g lactose) 1: Our cows free-graze for at least 120 days a year, 6 hours a day. A great tasting cheese that is full of aroma and body. It has a nutty flavor that goes with just about anything. It also has a creamy and buttery texture and it is very addicting to any cheese lover. This is great on its own or with breads, grapes, wine and even in some recipes. This is a 5 star cheese.

I caught this cheese on sale so I splurg d and bought it.  Great choice.  It melts over thing very nicely and tastes great!  I recommend it.

Paltry alternative

Rubbery texture, bland flavor I normally don’t buy a Presidente cheeses I know the Bree cheese very poor quality, but I thought I would give it a try.

Jarlesburg is my all time favorite. This is a softer cheese with a Swiss-lite flavor. It does not grate or slice easily
