I keep extinguishers in everything with an engine, 3 in the garage, 2 in the kitchen (one of these and a Type K), and one by every door.  I haven't had to use one in the house, but have used them several times for vehicles/engines/other fires, and just for practice and teaching others.   If the gauge gets too low, use it to practice/teach.  They still work, just don't reach as far.  DO Remember to replace it!
I say this to show that I'm certainly not an expert, but I do have some experience with these devices.  I used to only buy the refillable type, but nowadays the disposables are much more cost effective.  
These Kiddies are easy to use, have a decent mounting bracket that is easy to install, and in my experience have a reliable gauge to determine when they need to be replaced.
It would be difficult to have too many.  For the money, I would highly recommend these ABC extinguishers.

At christmas these were dirt cheap.  The description said they are 10lb extinguishers, however,  they are actually 2.5 lb.  Still a great deal and I knew at this price point it could not have been as described.  Bought several and handed them out at christmas.  Yes I do feel better now!

2.5 Lb Home and Auto Fire Extinguishers

They appear to be good quality fire extinguishers, but of course I haven’t used one yet.  I bought these to have one in each car.

Nice price, but when I opened the box I set it off somehow. Make sure to read the instructions and be careful..it is still good for future use. Only a little came out by accident. But it was messy!

We they look nice, but I haven't used them yet, and hope thatt I'll never have to use them, so that is all that I can say about them.

A Just in case product

These came in a box with white powder leaking out. We are not sure if this was due to the delivery process or the fire extinguishers themselves. 
I would not recommend these especially because they are meant to keep you safe in case of a fire, because they obviously will not work or hold up. Wish I could have a better review but not with this item.

Defective

Bought this last month and got it for a great price. White/gray powder inside of box, one tank completely empty. So much for free shipping to home; will have to be returned and hopefully exchanged.

Defective!!

Opend box and found one had discharged. The safety key was in the bottom of the box. What a mess spilled out over kitchen table. Takeing it to sams on fri when im off.
