Shaving Performance

What I like most about this Gillette Labs razor is that it gets an excellent close and smooth shave as long as you wet your face with hot/warm water and use plenty of shave cream. I use Barbasol with aloe moisturizer and I also like it alot because it cuts the whiskers on your face according to the contours on your face!! it's the best shave i've ever had!! i like the lubricating strip it has and the design of the razor handle is excellent!! i like how it pivots for the contours of your face for a nice clean cut with no knicks or no cuts or no razor burns. Gillette makes high quality shaving products and i highly recommend them!!

Nice super clean, close, and smooth shave!!

gillette.com

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This razor delivers a really smooth and close shave. The razor head moves easily along the contours of the face, making it simple to reach tricky areas without missing spots. It feels well-built and durable, and the handle has a solid grip so it doesn't slip, even when wet. The exfoliating bar is a nice touch and helps remove buildup before the blades pass, which leaves my skin feeling smoother and reduces irritation. Comfort-wise, it glides effortlessly and doesn't tug or pull, even on thicker hair. The built-in bar soap adds extra lubrication, so I don't always need shaving cream. Overall, my skin feels clean and less irritated after shaving, and I'd definitely recommend it.

smoth shave

Was very sceptical at first, but it is the best shave I have ever had. I cant beleive how close and smooth it left, i cant feel any stubble after. I hope it works for everyone else this well

Gest shave ever

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Smooth and great shave. I love the price point as well. I love the design and fit in my hand. It is something I didn't even know I was missing now I won't use anything else.

Great

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The GilletteLabs with Exfoliating Bar by Gillette is a kit that includes a razor handle with an Exfoliating Bar, 2 blade refills, and a magnetic stand.
The razor handle is comfortable to hold, and I like that it allows the blade to rotate side to side, as well as tilting forward and backward. The Exfoliating Bar is the neon yellow rumble strip below the blades. I like that it is attached to the handle, not the blade, and that it feels smooth, yet slightly rough for that skin exfoliation.
Shaving is very smooth and effortless. The combination of the Exfoliating Bar, 5 sharp cutting blades, and multi-tilting head built into the handle make it glide smoothly over my face. The Exfoliating Bar is nice, and I like it over lubricating strips, but it doesn’t replace them.
The magnetic stand is very heavy and has a slip-proof pad underneath. It’s a nice addition for the kit.
Another plus is that it comes with an extra blade. Overall, it’s a nice razor kit, and wouldn’t mind getting it again.

Smooth, effortless razor with nice Exfoliating Bar

I have had the sensor and the Mach3 and this Labs razor comes in third. The handle is heavy and clumsy and although the blades last they do not give the close smooth shave the Mach3 gives. I would love to trade it back for some Mach3 blades.

Not what I expected

1.) That rotator built into the handle - a joke! 2.) I purchased after researching if the blades from the Fusion model were compatible, upon affirmation, I purchased. 3.) When I checked to confirm compatibility, it was nearly impossible to eject the blade cartridge. 4.) Deciding to return, I attempted to get the blade cartridge back onto the handle, Nearly impossible! Maybe I got a bad product, missed by the Quality Assurance team? I DO NOT RECOMMEND BUYING THIS ITEM!

Too many moving parts for this to be reliable!

I have purchased Gillette products for over 30 years. Never have I ever been more disappointed with a product than the GilletteLabs razor. I changed to it because my regimine of using a Mach 3 and a Good News Sensor 2 razor each day to get an acceptable shave continues to really miss the mark. But the Gillette Labs shaver is the most blatent rip off in history. This product is horrible.

Worst Shave ever!

I've been a loyal Gillette customer for over three decades. I started with their basic razors Sensor when I first began shaving, moved to the Mach 3 then Fusion when it launched, and have been happily stocking up on Proglide Proshield for years. These were solid, reliable products that did exactly what they were supposed to do: deliver a close, comfortable shave.
Then came GilletteLabs with the "exfoliating bar," and I'm beyond disappointed.
This product perfectly represents what's wrong with Gillette's current direction. Instead of focusing on what made them great—making exceptional razors that simply work—they're pushing unnecessary gimmicks that nobody asked for. I've been getting perfectly smooth shaves for 30 years without needing my razor to exfoliate for me.
Let's be clear: this razor costs more than the Proglide Proshield, yet it performs worse. The shave isn't as close, the cartridges probably will not last as long, and the exfoliating bar feels like a marketing gimmick that adds bulk without adding value. It's painfully obvious this "innovation" exists primarily to justify a higher price point, not to improve the shaving experience.
I can't help but suspect these products are designed by executives and consultants who probably don't even shave regularly themselves. If they did, they'd know that what customers want is simple: sharp blades, good lubrication, a comfortable handle, and a reasonable price. We don't need "heated razors," "exfoliating bars," or whatever gimmick comes next.
For over a century, Gillette built its reputation on one thing: making the best shaving razors in the world. The Proglide Proshield was proof that they still knew how to do that. Why abandon what works? Why not invest in making those proven products better and more affordable instead of chasing gimmicks?
I genuinely hope Gillette returns to its roots. Until then, I'll be sticking with my stockpile of Proshield cartridges and seriously considering whether my next purchase will be from a competitor who still understands that sometimes the best innovation is perfecting the basics.
