This generator is everything it claims to be. Easy to set-up, use and is reliable. I hooked it up to my home for a test-run the day after I received it. It started up instantly and powered the entire "critical function" sub-panel in my home (HVAC, water/well, freezers/refrigerators, water heater (gas), water softener, garage door, washer/dryer (gas), WIFI/network and critical lights/outlets). We built our home in 1998 (just prior to "Y2K", ha!) and included the sub-panel. I toyed with the idea of now installing a whole-home generator - but that would have been an $8-10K investment - this was <$1K. For the roughly one power outage we experience every 2-3 years, this is a good, economical solution.

Solid, well-made unit.

My generator has worked flawlessly since I purchased it. Unfortunately I have been unable to get it to work as I had intended, which is to run my pool circulation pump during winter power outages. I have verified through multiple electrical experts that my connection from the generator to the pool equipment is correct. My next step is to adjust the Hertz output down to 60 from the 62 it is currently producing. Any direction you can provide me to make that adjustment would be sincerely appreciated.

Solid Generator

I bought this after a heavy rain storm that knocked out the power. No power, no sump pump. Heavy rain forecast for the next day.
Fortunately the storm passed without any issues.
I am ready for the next storm.

Awesome

I bought this during the power outage of August. Setup was easy, the generator worked flawlessly. It powered half of my house with extension cords. 2 refrigerators, a chest freezer, sump pump, ceiling fans and lights. Had my cable modem and wifi running as well as 2 8,000 BTU air conditioners. The only issue I ran into was that the cushions for the handlebars were missing. All it took was a few emails and Generac took care of that for me.

Power to spare

We lost power due to severe storms that roared through our area. The sump pump was flooding out into the basement and we had just filled our freezer so we needed electricity. Because of the widespread damage from the storms it was evident we were not getting our power on anytime soon. Purchased a Generac 8000 watt unit and we were able to get through the blackout! The generator supplied more than enough power and ran several hours on a tank of gas - very pleased with our purchase!

Pleased with our purchase

I purchased this a month ago at Farm and Fleet. Set up was super easy. It fired right up, the battery already had a full charge on it for the starter. There are directions on the machine so when the power does go out and your in a rush you don’t have to go looking for anything it’s all on the machine and ready to get your house back up and running.

Easy set up

We had an extended power outage. This was my first portable generator. It assembled easily and worked well supplying power to my home. It was the only unit available due to the area wide power outage. My only complaint is the noise level while running.

Dependable power source

Originally purchased unit from a general distributor. The product did not work as it should. Spent months trying to get that resolved. The process was gruesome and useless.
Finally after months & hours of my time a resolution was determined to replace the unit with a new one. This unit appears to perform as advertised and expected.
So long story short, replacement made but after months of aggravation. Not what I ever bargained for.

needless waste of my time to resolve warranty issu

Bought 2 of these. In FL, I start them about every 6 months. At 9 months old, one did not start. H Depot didn't even have them on file as a purchase. Generac fixed that. I got the repair but had to rent a uhaul - 2 separate trips to take to the shop and back home. I think it should have been fixed on site, considering I spent almost 2k with them. I do like them though

Good generators but...

At first I loved my purchase but within operating the generator for 10 hours, one set of outlets has shorted out. There was no water damage, simply stopped working. When I contacted support I was told that I needed to deal with wherever I bought it (authorized dealer) or a repair location. Funny though- repair locations they gave me refuse warranty work, and authorized dealer tells me it’s a final sale, best of luck. Terrible experience to spend $1k on a generator and have it working 50% within a day!

Terrible Experience!
