Instructions

Add a touch of gourmet to your meals simply by using Argo® Corn Starch (35 oz.). It's produced by Argo, a brand that has been trusted in homes across the country for more than 100 years. Corn starch is used in residential and commercial kitchens for thickening stews, sauces, pie filling and gravies. Use one tablespoon of Argo starch in place of two tablespoons of flour when cooking your sauces and you will have a thickened and smooth consistency every time. The corn starch powder comes in a plastic tub that helps prevent storage and keep the corn starch fresher for longer. It's shelf stable, so simply place in your pantry and use when needed.

Is This Corn Starch Powder Gluten Free?

Yes! Argo starch is gluten free, so it can be used in place of regular flours when thickening a gluten-free dish. While some gluten-free flours are pricy and hard to find, Argo maintains an economical price and versatility that is usually hard to come by.

What Else Can I Do with Argo Corn Starch?

Corn starch isn't just for making rich and tasty sauces, pastes and gravies. This convenient and versatile product is capable of so much more! Here are some of our favorite uses for Argo Corn Starch:

Make paint mix for kids - Mix corn starch with water, bring to a boil, let thicken and set aside to cool. Separate into a few small bowls and mix with food color. You'll have homemade finger paints to keep kids busy for hours!

Freshen carpets - Before vacuuming, sprinkle corn starch lightly over carpets. Wait a half hour and vacuum. The corn starch will soak in unwanted aromas and leave your carpets ultra-fresh.

Dry shampoo for your dog - Rub corn starch into the fur of your beloved dog and brush. Gluten-free Flour Use

When I think of cornstarch, Argo is my go-to. It has a very smooth consistency and it's my favorite for thickening sauces or combining with flour when frying food.

This is the second time I've purchased this cornstarch. It had to be delivered because this size doesn't isn't available in the store. I use large quantities of it for body products so it's more convenient and cost effective to purchase the larger container. This brand has always been stable and ready to work with. The cornstarch has numerous uses from gravy thickener to oobleck, bath bombs and other body products. I recommend this brand of cornstarch.

Sam's Club use to carry Argo Corn Starch in house but since have made purchasing online only. I like the large size since I use it frequently. And the cost is close to the smaller size you see in the grocery stores. Argo is great for thickening broths for gravies and I use it as a batter for frying.

Argo Corn Starch Institutional Size

I'm so glad Sam's Carrie's a bigger container.. this corn starch is a must more so than flour for making gravies and Chinese food

Bigger carton well needed!

Great for many dishes besides using as a thickening agent. I use a a coating for meat and fish. Gluten free.

Top product for many years

Corn starch

I'm the husband in this review. I use to complain about corn starch in my food until I started using it daily to keep my body dry and where clothes can be tight and you want the ares to be friction-less.
It works great to keep me dry and bind-less in special places. I have even used it in the chili I make for several years to thicken it up.

Don't buy it all, I need some too!

Home-made Baby Powder, Yes!!! So in effort to keep it natural, I use this as a preventive diaper rash solution and it works wonderfully and it's huge! Used it on my newborn baby girl---safe alternative to baby powder.

I also love to keep cornstarch to make a quick lemon shortbread cookie--- A wonderful cookie you can keep in the icebox and pull out and bake if you have company alongside tea or coffee.

Home-Made Baby Powder

I may not be a food service professional but I've made enough Oobleck to cover the tri-county area. This is by far the best cornstarch I've ever sunk my hands into. And at this price, you don't have to worry about breaking the bank to blow people's minds. Good job, Argo. Great job, Sam's Club.

This Cornstarch is simply amazing.

By appearance, taste, performance, you'd think this is a quality product. But check the label; like most corn products in the US, it has been genetically modified to withstand large doses of pesticide and herbicide. Sam's needs to up its commitment to organic sales.
