Very good quality. Easy to assemble. Works well on propane. Description o line states unit is Made in Japan , but label on my box states Made in China. Happy with generator regardless.

Genmax Generator

I ordered the GenMax model GM5500XiD from Sam's Club. After doing some extensive research of similar models in this class/category, I chose GenMax. My primary reason for purchasing this particular generator was to have something in case of power outages, which are becoming more frequent. This is especially true for the hotter weather we are experiencing during the Summers in Southern California, followed by the fire season in the fall. This puts enormous pressure on the local power grid and we end up with our electricity being turned off, due to rolling blackouts or power outages in general. My family and friends also enjoy going camping about twice a year (Summer and Winter) and we attend numerous tailgate parties as we are huge sports fans. What I love about this particular model is that it allows you to run it on both propane and gas, which gives me the option to use either/or. There is also a button that allows you to transfer between Propane and Gas. For your accessories there is a 1AC 120V 30A outlet, a parallel Input, USB-A/C and an AC 120V 20A X2. The parallel input allows you to connect to multiple generators. That is a BIG plus for me. At 5500 watts, this generator fulfils all my requirements (refrigerators, portable AC, lights, all my small electronics, phones, laptops, etc.). The inverter also allows me to run sensitive devices without worrying about them getting damaged. 
The other feature that stands out is that this generator is very quiet. Even when I took it to a sporting event, tailgate party, and plugged in my television yesterday, I was able to have a conversation with my friends without having to yell. This unit only weighs about 55lbs and comes with wheels, so it is very easy to move from one location to another. 
It comes with oil, a 2 in 1 screwdriver, oil funnel and a spark plug socket wrench. All you need to do is open the box, remove, add the oil to the generator and you are in business. It's that easy!  

This generator is well designed and the construction is solid with no-flat wheels. 

For my purpose and needs, this is the ideal generator. The price point was perfect for my budget, is quiet and moves from one location to another with such ease.

The GenMax 5500 is an Amazing Generator

I bought this as I really liked the option to use duel fuel - Propane and Gasoline.  We always have extra propane tanks for BBQ and now can be used for this generator.  I also like the gauges, very easy to see and use.  When it arrived I was surprised by the compactness and frankly I thought it would weigh more.  I was able to move it around myself.  Finally, upon using it, the 5500 watts is plenty for everything I need to get done.   I highly recommend this Generator.

Dual fuel generator is great !

I read reviews on other Genmax models and decided to purchase this one. I recently used the generator to power up my jack hammer. I had to break up some old concrete at one of my rental properties. I had no issues. I did have to call tech support regarding the oil fill up. The phone tech was friendly and nice. I am very happy with my purchase.

Genmax dual fuel

In all honesty I was afraid to buy a gas pressure washer- I wanted electric just for some home diy projects like my garage floor. The price on this was unbeatable and so I bit the bullet and bought it. This works perfect and it’s super easy to set up and maneuver. I can’t say I’ll ever go back to a electric pressure washer as I really feel this unit will last the rest of my life time. It’s strong and I called their support cuz I broke my wand and it cracked. I had a replacement at my door step 4 days later. Great company, better product. Kudos to genmax

My wife gave me this as a Christmas gift and I just used it this week camping. I appreciate the durability this generator has. Was able to put it to use this week and I couldn’t be happier. Only thing I would say is that it is a little heavier compared to some other ones I’ve previously owned.

Super easy and durable

This is great bang for buck buy, I don’t see anything else on the market that gives you more for your dollar than this pressure washer. I’ve had it for about 3 months now, broke the nozzle after a little bit , got a hold of the aupprt and they sent me all 5 nozzles again. No complaints

Solid washer for home

Good little generator for the price and power. during break-in, which I couldn't find information for in the manual, I noticed my grass was scorched. The muffler points down to the ground. This is absolutely a fire hazard. I have 5 other generators and none of them do this. they vent up way off the ground. This points right at the ground. 100% unsafe.

Fire Hazard

Generator was missing parts upon delivery.  Genmax customer service was substantially lacking in both polite interaction and accommodation.  Ultimately, I elected to have the entire generator exchanged through Sam's online and the original generator picked up for return.  I can't imagine that this option was a cost benefit to either company (neither Sam's nor Genmax--and it's reputation).  For those wondering, I never actually fired up the generator, so I am unable to speak to the effectiveness/functionality of the generator itself--apologies.  The moment you add fuel/oil to a unit, Sam's and their delivery services get difficult about accepting (or how they accept) the returns, thereafter.  I do give Sam's 5-stars for zero grief on processing the exchange--Thank You!

Poor Manufacturer Customer Service

I bought this to use at softball tournaments to run fans. It has all the bells and whistles, but the “super quiet” bit is what sold me. I just started this thing up to do the 5 hour burn, and it is just as loud as my big generator that will run my whole house. Do I have a defective unit? 
The 1 star is for packaging. The packaging is solid.
